A highly esteemed member of the HRS Expert Council, Mr. Blomquist lives in Brookfield, Wisconsin and is President of Blomquist Benefits LLC. He is on the Independent Business Association of Wisconsin (IBAW) Board of Directors, is chair of the IBAW Insurance Committee and is on the Milwaukee Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce (MMAC) Council Of Small Business Executives (COSBE) Board. Blomquist also serves on the Board of the Milwaukee Chapter of the American Heart Association and the Board of the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts.
From 1984 until June of 2001, Mr. Blomquist owned and operated Associates of Health Care, Inc (AHC) headquartered in Brookfield, Wisconsin. During this time the company grew to provide a health benefit Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) and Utilization Management services to over 500,000 plan participants represented by over 7,500 companies. AHC’s PPO included 114 hospitals and over 10,000 physicians throughout the State of Wisconsin and in eastern Minnesota. In 2001, AHC represented $732 million to the Wisconsin health care market ranking it as the largest private sector purchaser of health care in the state.
Mr. Blomquist sold AHC to BCE Emergis in June of 2001 and managed the company until March of 2002. The company is today part of the Multiplan group which represents over $2.5 billion to the Wisconsin market. AHC was named by COSBE as a Future 50 Company in 1992 and in 1994. In 1997, 1998 and 2000 Mr. Blomquist was named as a finalist for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
In 1997, 1998 and 1999, AHC was recognized by the Waukesha Chamber of Commerce as a Top 10 Company and in 1999, as Small Business of the Year.
In 2004, Mr. Blomquist was recognized as COSBE Board Member of the Year and in 2005, received the IBAW Board Member of the Year Award. He was President of the IBAW in 2006.
